4月19日 March 2006Hello all,
Rayna has just recently gone to bed - so we figured we would post a blog and add some new photos of Rayna.
Lots has happened in March - there were several birthdays (Jenn - 29, my mom - 57, Kendra - 27) and a couple anniversary's (my parents Ellen & Warren & Aunt Pat/Uncle Ernie - both 32 years). Rayna had her 9 month doctor appointment and everything went well. She weighed 17.8 lbs and 28 inchs long. However, our poor little girl got very ill with the flu for a few days after that. Five days later she was back to normal, eating well, laughing, playing and lets not forget that little temper. Rayna is crawling all over the Condo, she loves her baths in the big tub, she enjoys her swimming, she stands no problem, she is eating more new foods and has started on table foods . Rayna also walks easily with her car walker and around all sorts of furniture or with mommy & daddy holding her. She still has only the 2 teeth, but lots of promise of more to come.
Enjoy the March pics, but come back soon as we'll post the April update shortly.
3月2日 Talking Goats lose in quarterfinalsThe Talking Goats dream of back-to-back championship came to a crashing halt as a result of a 4-1 quarterfinal loss last night to Iovate. Iovate (Muscletech) gained a measure of revenge on the Talking Goats with the win last night, as it was the Talking Goats that ended Iovate's dream in last year's final.
Although out played early in the first, the Talking Goats took a 1-0 lead and had many opportunities to increase that lead in the first period. However, Iovate held it close to end the first.
In the second, although the Talking Goats had 3 powerplays, Iovate took a 2-1 lead with two late goals in the frame. Heading into the third, the Talking Goats talked big - but showed little as Iovate scored 2 more goals to win 4-1, thus ending the dream of back-to-back championships early in the playoffs. Key statistic this game - 0 for 6 on the Power Play for the Talking Goats.
However, 2 consolation games do remain for the Talking Goats in the 2005-06 season. There is lots of talk in the dressing room about changes for next year, with respect to coaching and players. Other than goaltending, Management has several areas to look at for next year. Scoring must be a priority as the Talking Goats only averaged around 2 goals per game. Players, and coaches, are playing for contracts over the next 2 games.
Stay tuned for a season wrap-up of the Talking Goats in 2 weeks. 2月27日 January and February 2006Hi all! Here are some new pictures of Rayna. She has been very busy the last couple of months. Since our last update, she has really mastered crawling and keeping Mommy and Daddy busy as she gets into EVERYTHING. Rayna has also learned to stand up, while holding onto things. She has even attempted standing on her own, with no luck, its a good thing we have soft carpet. She also likes to walk with the help of Mommy and Daddy. Rayna is eating more solids and seems to enjoy all foods so far. We can't believe how fast she's growing and developing. Our Rayna just turned 8 months this past Saturday (Feb 25th). Enjoy the new pics and we will be sure to update more often. 1月11日 Welcome 2006I know it's been a while since we've posted a blog and some pics so I thought tonight would be the night.
It has been very busy in the Warnell home especially during the holidays. First off, congrats to Kari and Laurent who became engaged on Christmas Eve, we will definitely be looking forward to that wedding!
Also, it was great to see Bonnie Jean and Chris and finally meet Brooklyn when they were here for Brooklyn's baptism on December 18th. All the cousins hit it off great!
Rayna enjoyed her very first Christmas by celebrating her 6 month birthday on Christmas Day and Santa surprising her with her first tooth! A second tooth came about a week later. Also after weeks of trying, Rayna started crawling just after New Years... I think Toby cried. (LOL)
She is really on the move now and keeping us on our toes, but we are loving every minute of it.
I have lots of pics for the month of December and of Christmas 2005, I've posted some of my favorites.
Enjoy!!!
12月25日 Merry ChristmasJenn, Rayna and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. We hope everyone enjoys the holiday season and we wish the best for all in the New Year. Take care and enjoy. 12月18日 Welcome Baby Sherrard!Congratulations to Andrew and Heather Sherrard on the safe arrival of their healthy baby boy. Baby Sherrard was born December 17th at 3:55pm, weighing 7lbs 7ozs. The baby was born almost 2 weeks early which surprised mom and dad as they were still finalizing names. So hopefully when I see the baby and post some pics, I can put a name to the face! 12月7日 Rayna's BaptismOn November 27th 2005, Rayna Ellen Anne Warnell was baptized into the United Church. It was a very special day for Toby and I as we were welcomed by fellow parishioners and joined by many family and friends for Rayna's Baptism. What made the day extra special was that Rayna wore the same dress I wore for my Baptism 28 years ago! She looked just beautiful. As always we took many pictures of the day. Be sure to check them out. 11月23日 Rayna November 2005Well, its been a busy month and lots of pictues were taken. Although it doesn't take long to download, I just never seem to do it as often as I want. Anyway, I got them done now.
Here are the most recent pics of Rayna, for the month of November (and a few from October). Some of these pics include Rayna's trip to Barrie and her first taste of solids. Don't forget, you can read the captions I've written by clicking the arrow under the picture to the right. This enlarges the picture and then you can read the captions too. Let me know if you have no idea what I'm talking about. lol
Enjoy!!!
11月9日 Congratulations Andrew and Heather Sherrard.....Jenn and I would like to congratulate Andrew and Heather on FINALLY getting Call Waiting. Jenn was in shock earlier this evening, when she called Heather and Heather said, "Oh Hi, you are my first call on Call Waiting." After years of getting busy signals, Andrew and Heather have joined the rest of us in the 21st century.
Could Call Display be next?? Stay tuned! 11月1日 Rayna's 1st HalloweenTrick or Treat Everyone!
Tonight Rayna got to experience her first Halloween, and what an experience it was. The day started early with pumpkin shopping. Rayna picked out her own pumpkin, not knowing what she was getting herself "into". LOL...please see photos! After lots of picture taking, Rayna was dressed and ready to go "trick or treating" at all her grandparents houses. On route, Rayna experience another first...a car accident. We were rear ended while at a red light. After observation from the paramedics, everyone checked out ok, and off we were to get some candy and show off our little "Princess".
We hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween...hope you enjoy the pictures!
10月30日 Braden Matthew Warnell has Arrived!!!!At last we are an Aunt and Uncle. Todd and Monica gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Braden Matthew, on October 30th at 1:42 a.m. Braden weighed 7 lbs 14 oz and is 21 inches. Mom and baby are doing well. We were able to take a few pictures at the hospital, before Mommy and Daddy settled for a well deserved rest. 10月20日 Talking Goats lose 3rd game of seasonThe Talking Goats dropped to 1-3-1 on the season, with a 4-3 loss to the Raiders last night. Penalties played a factor in this game, as the Raiders scored 2 power play goals last night, including the game winner with a minute and seventeen seconds left in the game.
After jumping out to a quick 2-0 lead 8 minutes into the first period, the Raiders erased the 2 goal deficit in just over a minute later. The Raiders then took a 3-2 lead, on the power play, to end the first period. No goals were scored until the 3rd period when George Mendes tipped in the tying goal, on the power play with 5 minutes to play. However, the Raiders responded with a late power play goal to win the game 4-3.
Scoring Summary for the Talking Goats was:
Glen 'Chopper' B. - 1 goal & 1 assist, Mark Walker - 1 goal (2 PIM), George Mendes - 1 goal, Sean Baker - 1 assist, Donny Gillingham - 1 assist (2 PIM), Todd Warnell - 1 assist (4 PIM), Pat Whalen - 1 assist (2 PIM), Dio Bal (2 PIM)and Lance Lougheed (2 PIM). Of special note - Stopped Penalty Shot by Cory 'Goose' Gillingham.
Next game is Wed Oct 26th at 9:45 p.m. The Talking Goats, with a short bench next week, will be looking to rebound and start a new win streak.
Coach Toby 10月13日 Talking Goats end winless streakLast night at the Hershey Centre Community Rinks, the Talking Goats ended their 2 game winless streak with a solid 3-0 win. The Talking Goats notched their first win of the young 2005-06 season - with a superb goaltending performance by Cory Gillingham and a pair of goals from 'Chopper.' All around - it was a solid effort by all members of the Talking Goats. Of special note from last night's game - the game starting shift of the 'Greatest Line Ever.' talk about puck possession, cycling, control, etc - they dominated the first minute and a half of the period. It was so embarrasing for the other team - Coach Tob decided to mix up the centres and let everyone get in on the mix. Also, if a game ever goes to a shootout - Mark Walker - you will not be picked!
Scoring Summary for the Talking Goats was:
Glen 'Chopper' B. - 2 goals, Sean Baker - 1 goal, Mark Walker - 1 assist, Donny Gillingham - 1 assist, Todd Warnell - 1 assist (2 PIM), Toby Warnell - 1 assist, George Mendes - 1 assist and Lance Lougheed (4 PIM).
Next game is Wed Oct 19th at 8:45 p.m. The Talking Goats will be looking to build on the win streak which started tonight.
Coach Toby 10月12日 Rayna pics for Sept & OctFinally able to download some new pictures of my beautiful baby. Rayna is just over 3 months now and just perfect. Lots of giggles and smiles this last month or so, as well as a huge stubborn streak...I wonder where she gets that?...must be the "Warnell" side. LOL!
Rayna is really developing her own little personality.
We also started swimming Sept 29th. Rayna seems to really enjoy the water, although I don't think she enjoyed going underwater at first, but she was fine after.
Anyway, enjoy the pictures. I will try to download some more soon.
Jenn
9月29日 Defending Champs lose season openerLast night, the Talking Goats opened the 2005-06 on a losing note, falling 4-3 to the Swamp Donkeys. With a short bench and Coach Toby between the pipes (starting goalie Cory Gillingham was in Vegas), the Talking Goats ran into penalty trouble late in the third (Whalen and Adams) and the Swamp Donkeys capitalized. The Swamp Donkeys erased a 1 goal deficit with under 5 minutes to play and took a 4-3 with 54 seconds left to seal the win. Both goals were Power Play markers.
Scoring for the Talking Goats was:
Sean Baker - 2 goals, Don Gillingham - 1 goal, Pat Whalen - 2 assists (16 PIM), Kenny Adams - 1 assist (18 PIM), Gavin Brauer - 2 assists
Next game is Wed Oct 5th at 9:45 p.m., verse Iovate. The Talking Goats will be looking to rebound next week, hopefully with a full bench and less penalties.
Coach Toby 9月25日 Congratulations Moe and RossCongrats to Moe and Ross who were married yesterday at Liuna Gardens, Stoney Creek.
The newlyweds looked great as they danced the night away with their many family and friends.
What a beautiful day, beautiful wedding, and beautiful bride!
Welcome to the club!
Check out the pic's that Toby and I took throught out the day. 9月22日 PBF are WESPA Champs!Congratulations to all the members of the PBF softball team, as PBF won their first WESPA championshiop. In a convincing two-game sweep, by scores of13-6 & 19-6, PBF defeated Roadkill. PBF put on a hitting display last night with approximately 50 plus hits and it was a good thing they did, because their defense was pretty suspect, with at least 15 errors in the doubleheader last night. Yours truly, Coach Tob, led the way with at least half of those errors, however was clutch at the plate going 7 for 7, with 7 RBI's and 6 of those RBI's came with 2 outs. But who is counting????
The batting lineup, from Donny to Karyn produced hits all night long with slugger Chad hitting 2 HUGE homers last night over the Green Monster at Birch Park. Honourable mention to Donny for hitting 2 inside-the-park homers but please, someone bring an oxygen tank for the kid next time. Furthermore, good pitching last night Gilly.
Once again, congrats to Donny, Pat, Chad, Kris, Cory, Chop,Trish, Keating, Dio, Willy, Karyn, Lorraine, Wil, Steph and yours truly on a very successful season. Also a special thanks to Lance, Lisa Mac and Terry for subbing in for a couple games this year. Regular season champs with a 14-2 record, earning a first round playoff bye, and league champs by going 4 and 0 in the playoffs - taking the trophy home. No need to steal it at the banquet this year!!
See everyone at the Banquet on Oct 22nd at the Port Credit Legion. But prior to that, Lorraine will be hosting a Championship Celebration at her house on Saturday October 1st, from 4 p.m. til ??? More information to follow.
We are the champions, we are the champions........
Coach Toby
9月20日 Monica's baby showerLast Wednesday I was very excited to hear the news that Britteny Spears had her baby. Not because I am a huge fan, but because her baby was due around the same time as Monica's baby. My niece or nephew is due in less then 5 weeks, and I can't wait to meet the new addition. This past Sunday, the Warnell family held a baby shower for Monica and baby. It was a good day and a very pregnant Monica seemed to enjoy herself. I was able to take a few pictures of the day so check them out!
I also want to say congrats to Bonni-Jean & Chris for the safe arrival of Brooklyn Elizabeth Usas, who was born Saturday, September 17, 2005. We can't wait to see some pics! 9月8日 pre-natal class reunionCongrats to all the new mom's and dad's from our pre-natal class. Last night we all met for a reunion class where we got to show off our babies. We are all lucky to have given birth to healthy, happy babies.
Welcome Benjamin, Rayna, Ksenia, Marcus, Cindy and Abrielle (absent). 8月23日 PBF finishes softball season 14-2The Polar Bear Fornicators finished first in the WESPA league, even with last night's defeat to Anchor, with a 14-2 record. After looking back at the short history book of PBF, 14 wins with only 2 defeats is the best record they have had in their short exsistence, so congrats to the players and management of PBF.
PBF now has a bye for the first round of the playoffs and with some terrible scheduling, they may not play until Wed Sep 14th!! This bye has hurt PBF in the past as with the long layoff, several key players like Pat Whalen, Chris Willerton, Donny Gillingham and Cory Gillingham have failed to hit the cage and keep their batting strokes solid. Okay, I was kidding on the key players by mentioning Chris Willerton. Either way, the management of PBF does plan on getting his troops together, at least 3 times, over the next few weeks to keep them prepared and active.
On an interesting sidenote, reserve 3rd basegirl Steph had a bit of a rough outing at the hot corner last night, missing a few balls. Rumour has it she was at Willy's going over game tapes of Willy's play at shortstop, thus bringing her game down! Also, veteran Wil Barbosa made an appearance with PBF last night and looked brutal, booting an easy fly ball and just looking out of place without a ball hockey stick! Hopefully he attends practice over the next few weeks!
Congrats again to PBF on a 14-2 season. Bring the WESPA trophy home!
